In our mission to help companies find innovative, simple solutions to improve accessibility #4aBetterWorld:

• We are currently working on making meetings and conferences more accessible at the Catalonia Convention Bureau, implementing new inclusive signage for Sant Miquel del Fai Natural Park, and improving accessibility in several museums.

• Over the past year we have designed accessible signage for the railway stations in Catalonia, conducted a research study on Cultural Activities and Dementia for the local government and have given several online conferences to encourage the tourism sector to implement greater accessibility

About Mònica Surís

Mònica has worked professionally in the area of Accessibility since 2005, and in the Cultural Tourism industry for over 30 years.

She has collaborated with: La Pedrera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Joan Miró Foundation; the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA); the Diputació de Barcelona’s Cultural Heritage Board (Oficina del Patrimoni Cultural); and the Natural Park Network (Xarxa de Parcs Naturals), among others.

Mònica is a graduate in Tourism, Humanities and the Arts, and Public Relations, and has postgraduate in Heritage Interpretation. She has been a speaker at local and international conferences, including: Apropa Cultura (Barcelona); Art Beyond Sight (Metropolitan Museum, NYC); Blind & Visually Impaired Public (Réseau Art Nouveau Network, Riga, Latvia) and Seminar on Audio Description for the Arts (Roehampton University, London, UK).
